Ian Pemberton – Principal
Ian has extensive expertise in corporate transactions, IPOs, communications strategy, and issues management. He provides clients with significant opportunities to influence the debate in major industry sectors such as energy, mining and funds management with impressive local and international media contacts, writing and editing skills.
Ian was an editor and reporter for 27 years, specialising in business and financial markets. He was Bureau Chief at Dow Jones, news editor at Reuters and finance editor at Australian Associated Press, with postings in New York and the Canberra press gallery. Between 2000 and April 2007 he led a reporting and editing team at Dow Jones Newswires, developing news and feature articles for subscribers and The Wall Street Journal.
David Lording – Principal
David is one of the best known and respected corporate affairs professionals in Australia, with more than 20 years experience in government and corporate communications. He has unequalled contacts and relationships with senior financial journalists, columnists and newspaper editors.
David led corporate media relations at Westpac for 10 years and was National Media Manager for Telstra. David has worked on many high profile transactions such as Westpac’s $18 billion merger with St George and sensitive corporate and economic issues, with experience gained in senior positions in Canberra including advice over many years to a Federal Cabinet minister.
Karen Cooper – Senior Consultant
Karen provides strategic advice to numerous overseas and local clients as well as overseeing internal communications materials and press releases. She joined P&L Corporate in 2008, specialising in the finance, funds management and property sectors.
Karen has 17 years experience as a reporter and editor in Australia, Britain and Hong Kong, where she was deputy business editor of The South China Morning Post. She began her career at The Age and spent three years as a business reporter at City papers in London.
Iain McDonald – Senior Consultant
Iain provides strategic issues management advice to a range of clients, with particular focus on the telecommunications and financial services sectors. He has an impressive knowledge of the business and government sectors arising from more than 20 years media experience across four countries.
Iain was Dow Jones Bureau Chief for Australia and New Zealand until May 2010, with responsibilities that included overseeing regional coverage for The Wall Street Journal. He also worked for Dow Jones in Tokyo, Singapore and London.
